Using LibraryIsle

Terms of Service

Last updated: September 14, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of Library Isle, including its website, mobile application, story library, courses, community features, and related services (together, the "Service"), provided by XBS Express Business Solutions LLC, doing business as Library Isle ("Library Isle," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account, starting a free trial, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Who May Use Library Isle

The Service is intended for use by adults and by children under the supervision of a parent, legal guardian, teacher, or school administrator. A subscribing account, referred to in these Terms as a Member, must be created and controlled by an adult, a school, or another authorized institution. Student accounts created under a Member's subscription are for the use of the child, classroom, or group that Member is responsible for.

If you are under 18, you may only use the Service through a Member account created and supervised by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school. Library Isle does not knowingly permit a child to create their own account independent of an adult or institution.

2. Plans, Student Accounts, and the Free Trial

Library Isle offers a seven day free trial and several paid subscription tiers, each with a stated number of student accounts, currently ranging from one student account on the Reader plan to thirty student accounts under a Classroom license. Current plans, prices, and student account limits are posted on the Library Isle pricing page and are incorporated into these Terms by reference.

Starter and Reader plans include advertising as part of the Service. Advertising shown to student accounts is limited to contextual, non-behaviorally-targeted advertising appropriate for children, consistent with Section 8 of the Library Isle Privacy Notice.

The free trial converts automatically into a paid subscription at the end of the seven day period unless cancelled before the trial ends. Cancelling during the trial avoids any charge. Cancelling after the trial has converted to a paid subscription is governed by the Library Isle Refund and Cancellation Policy.

A Classroom license is sold by quote rather than a posted price and is governed by the specific order form or agreement signed with the purchasing school, daycare, or institution, which controls over these Terms where the two conflict.

3. Billing

Subscription payments are processed by Paddle.com Market Limited or its applicable affiliate ("Paddle"), acting as the merchant of record for these transactions. Your payment information is provided to and held by Paddle, not by Library Isle directly. Charges, receipts, and payment disputes may be subject to Paddle's own terms and policies in addition to this Agreement. Billing occurs on the cycle selected at signup, monthly or annual, and continues automatically until cancelled.

4. Cancellation and Refunds

Cancellation and refund terms are set out in the Library Isle Refund and Cancellation Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. In summary, a Member may cancel a subscription at any time to stop future billing, but amounts already charged for the current billing period, monthly or annual, are not refunded except as required by applicable law.

5. Acceptable Use

Members and student accounts may not use the Service to:

  • Share login credentials outside the household, classroom, or institution the subscription was purchased for
  • Upload, post, or transmit content that is unlawful, harassing, threatening, or inappropriate for a children's platform
  • Attempt to access another Member's or student's account or data without authorization
  • Scrape, reverse engineer, or resell access to the Service
  • Use the community chat or any other feature to contact, solicit, or attempt to identify a child outside the platform's intended supervised use

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates this section, with notice where practicable.

6. Community Features

BookLover and Classroom plans include access to community chat and related social features. These features are moderated and intended for supervised, age-appropriate interaction. Library Isle may review, remove, or restrict content or access in the community features at its discretion to maintain a safe environment for children.

7. AI-Assisted Features

Library Isle uses automated recommendation and tutoring-support features powered by third-party artificial intelligence services. These features are designed to support reading engagement and are not a substitute for instruction by a teacher, tutor, or other qualified professional. Library Isle does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or educational outcome of any AI-generated recommendation, summary, or prompt.

8. Intellectual Property

All story content, course material, software, and branding made available through the Service are owned by Library Isle or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. Members and student accounts are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, educational, or classroom use consistent with their subscription tier, and no other rights are granted.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." Library Isle does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error free, or fully compatible with every device. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Library Isle disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Library Isle's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the amount paid by the Member for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim. Library Isle is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

11. Termination

Library Isle may suspend or terminate a Member's access to the Service for violation of these Terms, non-payment, or misuse that endangers the safety of other users, particularly children. A Member may terminate their own subscription as described in the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

12. Changes to These Terms

Library Isle may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email to the Member's account address.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, without regard to its conflict of laws principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
