Privacy Notice

Last updated: September 14, 2026

This Privacy Notice explains how XBS Express Business Solutions LLC, doing business as Library Isle ("Library Isle," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information through our website, mobile application, and related services (the "Service"). Because the Service is used by children under the supervision of a parent, guardian, teacher, or school, this Notice includes provisions specific to children's privacy.

1. Information We Collect

From the Member (the adult, school, or institution that holds the subscription): name, email address, billing information collected and held by our payment processor, Paddle, and account preferences.

From or about a student account: a first name or nickname, an age range or grade level where relevant to course content, reading activity, course progress, and content interactions within the Service. Library Isle collects only the information reasonably necessary to operate the Service for that student account.

Automatically collected information: device type, general usage data, and diagnostic information used to maintain and improve the Service.

2. How We Use Information

We use collected information to:

  • Provide and personalize the Service, including reading recommendations and course pathways
  • Process billing through Paddle and manage subscriptions
  • Operate community features on BookLover and Classroom plans, including moderation
  • Communicate with the Member about the account, billing, and service updates
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
  • Comply with legal obligations

3. Children's Privacy and Parental Rights

Library Isle is designed to be used by children only through an account created and controlled by a parent, guardian, teacher, or school. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from a child without the involvement of an authorizing adult or institution.

A parent or guardian may, at any time:

  • Review the information collected about their child's student account
  • Request correction of that information
  • Request deletion of their child's student account and associated data
  • Refuse further collection of their child's information and have the student account deactivated

Requests may be submitted in writing to privacy@libraryisle.com. Where a student account was created by a school under a Classroom license, requests regarding that student's information may also be directed to the school, consistent with the school's own consent and records obligations.

4. Advertising

Starter and Reader plans display advertising as part of the Service. Advertising shown within student accounts is limited to contextual advertising and is not based on behavioral tracking or profiling of a child. We do not knowingly permit targeted or behavioral advertising to be served to a student account.

5. Third-Party Service Providers

Library Isle uses the following categories of third-party providers to operate the Service:

  • Payment processing: Paddle, which acts as merchant of record and handles billing information directly
  • Community features: a third-party chat and messaging platform, used to power moderated community chat on BookLover and Classroom plans
  • AI-assisted features: a third-party artificial intelligence provider, used to generate reading recommendations and tutoring-support prompts based on in-app activity

These providers process information only as necessary to deliver their respective functions and are contractually restricted from using it for their own independent purposes. We do not sell personal information, including information about a child, to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain account and student account information for as long as the subscription is active and for a limited period afterward to comply with legal, accounting, and security obligations. A parent, guardian, school, or Member may request earlier deletion as described in Section 3.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information collected through the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal information, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and the right to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 10.

9. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email to the Member's account address before they take effect.
