Refund and Returns Policy

Overview

At Library Isle, we strive to deliver high-quality literacy programs, digital content, books, and experiences that support our nonprofit mission. This Refunds & Returns Policy outlines the terms under which refunds, returns, and exchanges may be granted.

Please read this policy carefully before purchasing or registering for any product, event, or service.

1. General Policy Overview

Our refund window is 30 days from the date of purchase for eligible physical goods. For digital programs, events, or downloadable content, eligibility varies by product type (see sections below). If 30 days have passed, we are not obligated to issue a refund, but may review requests case-by-case.

Refunds are only processed with proof of purchase (receipt, order confirmation, or transaction ID).

2. Refunds for Events & Live Programs

Event registrations, including in-person festivals, storytelling sessions, and workshops, are generally non-refundable, unless canceled by Library Isle.

However, we may offer credit or substitution in the following cases:

  • You notify us at least 5 business days before the event start date
  • The event is postponed or materially changed in structure
  • You are unable to attend due to verified illness or hardship

To request an event cancellation, email support@libraryisle.com, with your name, event, and order details.

3. Webinars, Book Review Services, & Digital Content

All Book Review Live submissions, webinars, video programs, and downloadable educational materials are non-refundable once accessed or submitted.

You may be eligible for a partial refund or credit if:

  • You cancel before submitting a book or joining a live session
  • You encounter technical issues on our platform that we cannot resolve
  • You receive content that does not match the stated product description

4. Physical Goods (Books, Merchandise, Kits)

To be eligible for a physical return, your item must be:

  • Unused and in original condition
  • Returned within 30 days of purchase
  • Accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase

Non-returnable physical items include:

  • Personalized merchandise
  • Sale or promotional items
  • Opened book kits, CD/DVDs, or software packages
  • Items damaged by customer use

Please do not return items to the manufacturer.

5. Shipping, Exchanges & Returns

If an item is defective, damaged during delivery, or incorrect, we will cover return shipping and offer a replacement or refund.

If you are returning an item for other reasons:

  • Return shipping is your responsibility
  • Original shipping charges are non-refundable
  • We recommend using trackable services for high-value items

6. Refund Processing & Timelines

Once your return is received and inspected, we will notify you of the outcome. Approved refunds will be issued to your original method of payment. Processing times may vary by bank or payment provider.

7. Gift Returns

If an item was marked as a gift during purchase:

If the original purchaser initiated the return, refunds will be sent to their account

You may receive store credit or a digital gift certificate

8. Exceptions & Discretionary Cases

We reserve the right to issue refunds or credits at our discretion, especially when:

  • Services were disrupted by external technical issues
  • A book review was submitted but never completed
  • A duplicate purchase or billing error occurred
